Cartier
Already a master in the jewelry industry, Cartier got its start in the watch-making industry in the early 1900's. It was in 1904 when a friend of Cartier's confided in him, telling him that he cannot read his fob watch while flying and asked for Cartier's help. With the assistance of master watchmaker Edmond Jaeger, the jeweler came up with a solution for his aviator friend: the prototype of a wrist watch.
