Baume & Mercier
In the 1830's brothers Louis Victor and Pierre-Joseph Celestin Baume founded "Baume" in the Swiss Jura Mountains. They lived by their slogan: "Accept only perfection, only manufacture watches of the highest quality." It wasn't until 1920 that Baume became Baume & Mercier, born from the alliance of William Baume, talented watchmaker and grandson of the founder and Paul Mercier. The original slogan of the Baume brothers is still carried on today in Baume & Mercier's watch production workshops.
