Glimpsed at Tark's: Sharon Akers

Sharon Akers says her style is "trendy in a classic sense." The executive director of the Edward St. John Foundation and director of corporate relations for St. John Properties tends to go for classic silhouettes, with trendy accents, as she was when we "glimpsed" her having dinner at Tark's Grill in Green Spring Station. The 54-year-old Clarksville resident wore a tan, beige, black and gray graphic printed sleeveless Evan Picone sheath with a pleated neckline from Neiman Marcus. She'd added a chain belt from the Brighton store, black patent peep-toe Nine West slingbacks, and a black patent-leather-scrunch Jimmy Choo tote that was a gift. Her David Yurman hoop earrings and bracelet came from Radcliffe Jewelers. Her Rolex watch and Cartier love bracelet were gifts. A couple of her style secrets? "I always use great jewelry to change a look. And a great jacket can take you from a business setting into the evening."

Glimpsed at Tark's: Lisa Walman
(Photo by Colby Ware, Special to The Baltimore Sun / August 7, 2010)
Lisa Walman readily confesses to being "very trendy." "Whatever 'they're' wearing, I want to wear. But I don't like to go over the top," says the 38-year-old stay-at-home Owings Mills mom. When we "glimpsed" her having dinner with friends at Tark's Grill, Walman was completely on trend in a yellow knit one-shoulder Bailey 44 top with a cool ruching around the neckline from Nordstrom. She paired it with a pair of skinny black Citizens of Humanity jeans, also from Nordies, and soft gold metallic woven leather triple-strap Michael Kors wedge sandals from jildor.com. She found her big face Cartier watch at Radcliffe Jewelers, and her tote handbag at the Louis Vuitton store. The bangles and gold hoop earrings are wardrobe staples. One of her main fashion rules? "I like black with colors. I don't like wearing black and black. It's like matching things, and I don't do that."
