Radcliffe Couple: Meet Bri and Isaiah, destined to be together forever
We would like to introduce you to Bri & Isaiah. They share a love of dance parties, cooking, dogs and most importantly, each other. They are truly a couple who is meant to be and we are so happy to be a part of this very exciting and special time in their lives.
Where did you meet?
Dark Horse Saloon bar / restaurant in 2010. It is now called Black Eyed Suzie's.
How did he propose?
Isaiah (aka Zae) told me we were having a surprise date on Sunday, December 18th, 2016. We always surprise each other with dates so I didn't think anything of it. We drove to Bel Air, MD to Black Eyed Suzie's restaurant (formerly known as Dark Horse Saloon, where we first met). We had been saying we wanted to try out their latest menu options as every time they update their menu we like to go. When we got there he told me that my surprise was that we were having dinner with my grandparents, whom I am very close to so I was very excited, When we got inside we sat down with my grandparents and the waitress brought over menus and we just ordered waters to start. Zae took my hand and said "Do you want to go up to the bar and get a drink with me?" I said yes, of course. When he turned me around he had over 50 of our family and closest friends standing there. The whole place was lit with candles. There were fresh rose petals on the floor. His 3 sisters and little brother were each holding signs that read: "Will you marry me?" I was in complete shock! He then poured his heart out to me and even sang me our song, John Legend "When it's Cold Outside" in front of everyone! The last line of the song says, "there's one thing I know for sure..." and he ended it with "I want you to be my wife". He then got on one knee and asked me to marry him. Everyone was cheering for us.
The funniest part is when we watch the video a friend recorded, I never actually said the word YES to him. I just put my hand out and was sobbing like a baby. When all the tears and pictures stopped, I got to actually see all of Zae’s hard work. He had gotten the entire evening catered by the restaurant so that we could have an engagement party right then and there. Every table had a framed picture of us. Everything was so personal and intimate. It was beautiful.
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged?
We went back to our house with Isaiah and his Dad, who was in town from California, and ate the food we didn't get to eat at the proposal -- it actually felt like our wedding day, as we had no time to eat or drink anything because of all the excitement. We drank coffee, enjoyed a really nice conversation and spent quality time together.
Have you picked a date? Venue? Theme?
Our wedding will be April 29th, 2018 at Pond View Farm in White Hall, MD. The theme is all about our love and romance.
What is something you and your fiancé like to do together?
We love taking each other on surprise dates to places we haven't been before that we think the other person will love, working out and cooking together, playing with our 2 dogs and listening to music and having dance parties.
Will you be taking a honeymoon? If so, where and why did you pick that destination?
Yes we will be taking a honeymoon somewhere tropical because we LOVE the beach.
What is a fun fact about you as a couple?
We were friends for about 2 years before we actually made it official. Before Isaiah and I met, he had plans to move in with his Dad in California because his Mom was moving to Japan for work. We fell for each other hard and fast but never started dating because we knew he was leaving. We were both devastated. I thought I would never see him again. An earthquake hit in Japan and his Mom ended up coming back home, so Isaiah came back home and the rest is history.
