How did you meet?
We were casually introduced by close mutual friends, Max and Abbey Schmidt, over a few games of Big Jenga in the Summer of 2015. A few weeks later, I traveled with Abbey to Colorado for the Denver Outlaws 4th July game to watch Max play (and maybe Jeremy 😉). Following the Outlaws game, we caught another glimpse of each other under the glow of Independence Day fireworks, a fitting setting for the start of our dating relationship.
Describe the proposal.
Jeremy proposed to me on the beach in Malibu as the sun was setting after "date night" at The Sunset Restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean on June 27, 2017.
What was the date / season of your wedding? Did you have a theme? What was the inspiration behind this?
December 2, 2017. Elegant, with a bit of rustic, Winter Wedding. I never imagined my wedding being a winter wedding, but because of our work schedules, it was only going to be possible to get married in December, so the Winter theme had to be a part of the day!
What was the best part of the BIG day?
Celebrating the love God has blessed us with for each other, and being able to share this with family and close friends from all over the world.
What is one piece of advice you can offer other couples in planning their big day?
Don’t let the stress of the little things ruin what the day is all about, your day WILL be perfect so just enjoy the moment.
Did you take a honeymoon? If so, what was a highlight from the trip?
My husband surprised me with an amazing honeymoon to Tahiti & Bora Bora. Bora Bora is the definition of paradise, we’ve never experienced a place as beautiful as French Polynesia.
What is a fun fact about you as a couple?
We are both athletes, Jeremy is an MLL Lacrosse Champion, who plays for the Denver Outlaws. And I am a British Olympic Synchronized Swimmer, now performing in the Cirque Du Soleil show ‘O’ in Las Vegas.
How does it feel to be married?!?
The best decision we’ve ever made. Its great having your best friend around, all the time!
