Where did you meet?
Alex and I met at Preakness in 2014.
Please describe the proposal.
We were on vacation at the beach in Sandbridge, VA with his family a few weeks ago. He had mentioned to me that one of the nights he would like to get a good picture of us taken by his sister who is a photographer. At around 5:00 on Sunday night we walked out onto the beach with his sister, her husband and their son. I was under the impression that after we got our picture taken we would take a family picture of them. As his sister started taking photos of us he turned to me and got down on one knee! I was COMPLETELY surprised (he really set me up well)! Of course I said yes! WE definitely were in our own little world there for awhile- just over the moon. As we turned to head back to the house he pointed to the deck and said " Do you see who's there?" I saw my parents and my best friend standing there along with the rest of his family. He had attempted to fly in my parents… their flight got cancelled that morning so they hopped in the car and drove 6 hours. They got there just as we first walked out to the beach. My best friend drove all the way from North Carolina. It was so special. He had bought the ring and had all this planned since May. I couldn't have asked for a more special day, I will cherish it forever.
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged?
We celebrated with both of our families!
Have you picked a date? Venue? Theme?
Our wedding will be on October 12, 2019 at St. Mark Church in Catonsville and our reception is at Tabrizi's, a restaurant on the water in Baltimore.
What is something you and your fiancé like to do together?
We love to explore the city, go to Baltimore sporting events and concerts together! When we aren't doing that we love to be at home, relax and watch Netflix and movies.
Will you be taking a honeymoon? If so, where and why did you pick that destination?
We haven't picked a honeymoon destination, but we'd like to go somewhere warm and with a beach!
What is a fun fact about you as a couple?
We actually met a week before I was moving to Atlanta. We kept in touch, but didn't start dating until I moved back a little over a year later.
