Where did you meet?
Our story is a modern online romance through Bumble, with a first date at the Owl Bar.
Please describe the proposal.
I planned ahead with Lizzie's mom and sister to propose while we were on vacation at the family house in Chincoteague. Her mom likes to get the family down to the beach for photos when everyone is together, so I thought that was the perfect intimate opportunity. After a family dinner at home, we went to the beach at sunset. When it was time for photos of just the two of us, I managed to pull off a complete surprise proposal. Her family had a small party waiting back at the house, and we spent the following few days relaxing on the beach.
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged?
Went back to the house to tell our dog Molly the good news, and drank champagne. Lizzie got a diamond ring, Molly got a new stuffed toy – she was more excited about the toy.

Will you be taking a honeymoon? If so, where and why did you pick that destination?
We have no immediate plans for a honeymoon after the wedding, but we are opting to skip a gift registry and will be asking for contributions to help us fulfill our dream of traveling to Africa to go on a safari. We hope to get away for a week right after the wedding, most likely down to Chincoteague to hopefully get in the last little bit of warm weather on the water.
